Immigration Resources for Families
Roseland School District is committed to ensuring that all students feel safe, welcomed, and supported at school regardless of immigration status.
In accordance with Board Policy 1445 – Response to Immigration Enforcement, the district has procedures in place to protect student privacy and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Roseland School District will:
- Protect the confidentiality of student records
- Not collect information about the immigration status of students or families
- Require proper legal documentation before allowing immigration enforcement officers access to non-public areas of school campuses
- Ensure that all students have equal access to a free public education regardless of immigration status
All children have the right to attend public school regardless of immigration status under federal law and the U.S. Supreme Court decision Plyler v. Doe (1982).
