Technology Services
It is the Vision of the Roseland School District and the Roseland Charter School that the education of students will be enhanced through quality instruction in the appropriate use of technology to improve teaching and learning. Equitable access to technology will be available for all students from preschool through twelfth grade.
- Technology will be used to support the District and schools' visions and local improvement plans.
- Technology will be used by all students as a tool to promote and support learning and will be closely aligned with our curriculum and the California State Standards.
- Areas of the curriculum that can best be supported through the use of technology will be identified, and each classroom will be provided with the resources necessary to reinforce learning objectives.
- Technology proficiency levels and information literacy skills will be woven into the academic curriculum and will be used to provide powerful learning opportunities, especially for special-needs students and students who require additional resources to improve academic performance.
- Students and staff will have access to computers and other forms of technology daily, including after school hours.
- Students, staff, and community will learn to use technology effectively for learning, teaching, research, self-expression, and communication.
- Content filtered Internet access will be available for all school technology users.
- Adherence to our acceptable use policy will be required.
- Adult education in technology will be available to families and community members to promote better communication between home and school.
- Technology will be used as a diagnostic tool and to improve student record keeping.
- The use of technology will make teachers and administrators more accessible to parents.
- The schools and the community will actively support this Vision through funding, maintenance, staff development, and by creating a comprehensive technology use plan. As curricular standards evolve and technology advances, we will revisit this Vision, as needed, to make necessary changes.
Technology has made amazing in-roads at Roseland School District and at Roseland Charter School. Access to technology to teachers, students and families has more than tripled. District-wide trainings have been provided and staff are increasingly confident in daily use of technology for teaching, learning and record keeping. Ongoing trainings are provided at sites for new and experienced teachers, customized to site needs.
