Developer Fees

School districts may levy a fee on residential and commercial development (including remodel work) that occurs within district boundaries for the purposes of supporting the construction and reconstruction of local school facilities. This authority is granted and defined by Education Code 17620 and Government Code 65995.The Governing Board of the Roseland School district has established the following fees, effective June 16, 2024:

Residential construction or Additions/Remodels: $3.62 per square foot
Commercial/Industrial Construction (except mini-storage): $0.59 per square foot
Commercial/Industrial Construction (mini-storage only): $0.09 per square foot

Fees may be paid during normal business hours of 8am - 4pm at the District Office. Please call Marie Lemos to make an appointment for this service.

The City will need to approve the School District Certificate of Compliance (link here) before your Developer Fees may be processed.
